Sheep Harvesting

Something we have done for years on farms across the country is process lambs (hogget, mutton) for the freezer.

It’s a pretty simple, rhythmic and doable job for most people and one that can save you money. The first bit is the least fun, the rest is about doing a beautiful job, reducing waste and feeding your family homegrown meat.

In this workshop we’ll go from start to finish:

  • Slaughter (an awful word)

  • Skinning

  • Gutting

  • Hanging

  • Butchering

  • Packaging
